Meet our Company Officers

Steven Katz MD

Steven Katz, M.D., FACEP, EMT-P
President

Steve is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and is the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He also serves as the Associate Medical Director for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

While in college at SUNY Binghamton in upstate New York, Steve became an EMT and then a paramedic. He worked for both volunteer and paid EMS agencies throughout college. After finishing medical school at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, Steve completed an Emergency Medicine residency in Orlando, Florida. During his residency, he conducted a research project that received international attention.

His research study addressing the incidence of misplaced endotracheal tubes in the field was published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine in January 2001. This article has been widely quoted in the literature as heralding the importance of verifying endotracheal tube placement with end-tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2).

Nicole Katz, Vice President of the National Paramedic Institute, has extensive experience in the television and movie industry. She brings to National Paramedic Institute over ten years of experience in television production, both behind and in front of the camera.

Nicole's past experience includes production of an extensive line-up of television broadcasts, shows and commercials. She has been seen most recently on ESPN, TNN, and CNN. Nicole has a high-energy production style from her experience in live television and sports.

Nicole is now the Executive Producer of the Medic Monthly. Her goal is to ensure that the Medic Monthly is an exciting and fast-paced educational tool that is the national standard for on-duty training for First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics. "My goal is for our subscribers to look forward to watching the Medic Monthly. For you to walk away from each video armed with the most current EMS education available on the market today!"

Jim Redgate

For fifteen years, Mr. Redgate has been involved in the corporate world of sales and marketing. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Redgate was employed by Marriott, in Lake Tahoe, California, and was awarded Sales Executive of the Year for four consecutive years. During his employment with Marriott, Mr. Redgate successfully led the company's development team for building various regional sales and product presentation strategies.

From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Redgate was employed with American Ski Company in Dover, Vermont. During that time, American Resort Development Association honored Mr. Redgate with the Sapphire Marketing Achievement Award.

From 1992 to 1995 Mr. Redgate was employed by Hilton Hotels as a Regional Sales Trainer. Mr. Redgate coordinated extensive collaboration with management to implement continuing education and mentoring programs.
